Which motor suits your application?

Electric motors   are equipment used almost everywhere, including   homes, schools, hospitals, industrial factories and even coconut peeling facilities. If you need to buy a motor, first understand which type suits your work. This article discusses  5  motor types and which is suitable for your application.
First, let us explain how an electric motor works.  ?
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical rotation. Energy is produced within the motor through interaction with the magnetic field of alternating current ( AC)  or direct current ( DC)   Torque depends on current, which rises according to Ohm's law ( V = I*R)  where voltage ( VOLTAGE)  must rise if resistance increases while current remains constant. Electric motors are used in common industrial applications such as blowers, large machinery, fans and pumps, as well as small motion applications such as robots ( ROBOTICS)  and wheeled modules.
Electric motors can be divided into  5  main types:

AC motors ( AC MOTOR)  There are  3  types:

Induction motors ( INDUCTION MOTOR)
are called asynchronous motors because they do not rotate at synchronous speed, but more slowly than the supplied frequency would imply. The difference between actual speed and synchronous speed is necessary to develop torque. The magnetic field surrounding the rotor induces current.

Synchronous motors ( SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR)
rotate at a constant rate because they use alternating current ( AC )

Industrial motors ( INDUSTRIAL MOTOR)
are designed for three-phase electricity or high-power tasks such as conveyors and blowers. AC motors are also found in household appliances and other devices such as clocks, fans and disk drives.

1. Servo motors ( SERVO MOTOR)

are popular motors for position control. The source describes applications not requiring high precision, such as remote-controlled toy cars  RC   and robots. They comprise a motor, potentiometer and control circuit using  PULSE WIDTH MODULATION (PWM)  and electrical pulses sent to the control wire. Servos may be either  AC SERVO  or  DC SERVO  which can handle higher current and is used in industrial machines, while  DC SERVO  is used for small hobby applications.
DC motors ( DC MOTOR)  come in several types, mainly brushed ( BRUSHED)  and brushless ( BRUSHLESS)

2. Brushed motors ( BRUSHED)
are found in many appliances, toys and cars. Direction control allows, for example, a toy to move forward and backward. These motors are inexpensive and relatively simple to manufacture, with very good torque at low speed, measured in revolutions per minute or  RPM)  Their disadvantages include the need to replace worn brushes, heat and electromagnetic noise.
