What causes blower vibration, and what should be checked?

Equipment commonly develops abnormalities after prolonged use. Today we discuss a problem with   blower fans   in the form of vibration.
Blower vibration has many causes and requires examination of the different components inside the blower. Let us look at the possible causes.
Impeller imbalance
Foreign matter may enter while the impeller is running and damage it. Dust or foreign material may also collect on the blades, causing wobbling and oscillation.

Shaft wear
Part of the shaft is secured to the impeller hub. Wear at this location can cause blower vibration. Wear may also occur at the bearing assembly or pulley attachment, likewise causing vibration.

Loose belts
The belt transfers power from the motor to the impeller. An excessively loose belt can cause vibration, most often during fan startup.

Pulley wobble
Pulleys should not be overlooked: without regular balancing they can wobble, wear and cause blower vibration.

Blower users can inspect these problems themselves. Check the condition of these components regularly, together with external factors such as nuts and washers, to keep the equipment complete and ready for use.
