Which Fans Should You Install in a New House?

Different fans have different properties and purposes. Choosing the right type for the location and application improves occupants' comfort. The following types can help create a fresh, well-ventilated home.
1. Exhaust type
These fans are small but powerful and are generally installed where indoor stale air must be exhausted outdoors. Check the blade and airflow direction carefully; an incorrectly oriented installation reverses the intended air circulation.
They are typically installed in areas with strong odours or stale air, such as bathrooms and storerooms, to provide useful ventilation.
2. Wall-mounted type
Suitable for cooling and circulating air indoors. When used together with an exhaust unit and an open wall area, it can improve ventilation. Leave space behind the fan for incoming air and adjust its angle to suit the intended cooling and circulation.
For wall-mounted fans, consider whether they can be dismantled for cleaning. A fan mounted too high or where its cover and blade cannot be removed can be difficult to maintain. Dust may accumulate inside the motor, causing deterioration or electrical short-circuit damage.
3. Portable type
A versatile household cooling fan, whether or not the home has air conditioning. Portable or desktop fans can be moved wherever needed. Their limitation is a small blade, providing local cooling airflow rather than household air exchange.
This type is easy to maintain. Clean regularly to keep dust from entering the motor, where it can reduce efficiency or cause damage.
Each fan type has its own purpose and installation requirements. Study the type suitable for each area. An appropriate installation improves household circulation and makes the air feel fresher.
